Apparo

Apparo is a Charlotte-area nonprofit that improves life in our community by helping other nonprofits overcome technology and business process challenges that stop them from doing their best work. Through work with Apparo corporate volunteer teams and technically skilled staff, nonprofits receive the education and tools they need to work more efficiently and effectively towards fulfilling their missions. As a nonprofit, Apparo depends on the support of donors, corporate sponsors and skilled volunteers.

All-In to Fight Cancer

All-In to Fight Cancer is a grassroots non-profit organization founded after the loss of one man’s dear friend to cancer. It is dedicated to increasing public awareness and raising money to find a cure – through the unexpected medium of poker.

Rob Eubank, who inspired All-In, loved playing cards, with Texas Hold’em being his favorite game. Today, one of his favorite pastimes is an annual fundraising event in Charlotte, North Carolina, and San Francisco, complete with live music, a Texas Hold’em tournament for all skill levels, food and raffles.

Since its inception in 2011, the organization has raised more than $1.3M, with proceeds going to multiple cancer charities and cancer research.

Dove House Children’s Advocacy Center

Since opening in 2002, Dove House Children’s Advocacy Center in North Carolina has coordinated the intervention and supported the investigation of reported child sexual abuse cases in Iredell County, expanding to Alexander County in 2005. All of the services children need – forensic interviews, medical care, advocacy support, and counseling – are offered under one roof in a safe, child-friendly location.

The non-profit organization is dedicated to reducing the trauma and emotional stress associated with the traditional, disconnected system of helping abused children. Once a new concept devised by former Congressman Robert E. “Bud” Cramer of Alabama, the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) approach has been implemented throughout many counties across the U.S.
